General
Do I need a referral to visit your clinic?
No, a referral is not required. Patients can book an appointment directly by phone, WhatsApp, or through our contact form. We welcome both new and returning patients, including international visitors and expats living on the Costa Blanca.
Do you treat international patients and expats?
Yes. Our clinic primarily serves the international expat community on the Costa Blanca. That means consultations and treatments are available in English, Dutch, and Spanish, and our team is experienced with international health insurance claims and reimbursement documentation.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit is a comprehensive assessment that takes 45–60 minutes. We discuss your symptoms in detail, review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and run targeted movement tests. Based on those findings, we create a personalised treatment plan with clear goals and an honest estimate of the recommended course.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your condition and its severity. Most patients notice meaningful improvement within 3–4 sessions, with a typical full course running 6–12 sessions over 4–8 weeks. During your initial assessment, we give you an honest estimate so you know exactly what to expect.
Insurance & Payment
Is treatment covered by insurance?
Many international health insurance providers cover our treatments — for example, Cigna Global, Allianz Care, AXA International, and Bupa Global. We supply detailed itemised invoices that you can submit for reimbursement. Contact us with your insurance details and we'll help you understand your specific coverage.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, debit card, credit card (such as Visa and Mastercard), and SEPA bank transfer. Payment is due at the time of treatment. We provide receipts and itemised invoices on request, formatted to meet most international insurer requirements.
Do you offer package deals for multiple sessions?
Yes. We offer treatment packages at a reduced rate for patients who need a course of sessions — for example, a 6-session spinal decompression block. Ask about package options during your initial assessment so we can build one that matches your treatment plan.
Treatments
What is spinal decompression therapy?
Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, motorised traction therapy. That means a specialised treatment table gently stretches the spine in a controlled way, creating negative pressure inside the discs to relieve compression on pinched nerves and bulging discs. Each session typically lasts 30–45 minutes. Read more on our spinal decompression page.
Is spinal decompression painful?
No. Most patients describe spinal decompression as comfortable and relaxing. You feel a gentle, controlled stretch in your spine — not a sharp pull. Some patients even fall asleep during the session. Any mild soreness afterwards typically fades within 24 hours.
Do I need to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage?
No — sports massage benefits anyone with muscle tension, chronic pain, or an active lifestyle. For example, we regularly treat golfers, cyclists, hikers, and people with desk-related shoulder and neck tension. You do not need to be a competitive athlete to benefit.
What is the difference between sports massage and relaxation massage?
Sports massage is therapeutic, not purely relaxing. That means it uses firmer pressure and targeted techniques — such as deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release — to treat specific problem areas like chronic muscle tension or recurring injury sites. A relaxation massage uses lighter, broader strokes aimed at general stress relief. Read more about our sports massage approach.
Conditions
When should I see a specialist for back pain?
Seek professional help if your lower back pain meets any of these criteria: it lasts longer than 2–3 weeks, radiates into your legs, is accompanied by numbness or tingling, disrupts your sleep, or limits daily activities. Early assessment generally leads to faster recovery and prevents acute episodes from becoming chronic.
Can neck pain cause headaches?
Yes. Cervicogenic headaches originate from structures in the neck — for example, tight upper trapezius muscles, stiff cervical joints, or irritated nerve roots. These headaches typically start at the base of the skull and radiate to the forehead or temples. Treating the underlying neck pain often resolves the headaches.
What is sciatica?
Sciatica is pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, from the lower back through the buttock and down the back of the leg. It is usually caused by a herniated disc or bone spur compressing a lumbar nerve root — not a disease itself, but a symptom of an underlying spinal issue. We treat sciatica with spinal decompression and targeted manual therapy.
